Dan Broggi was the executive architect for the 450,000 sf Brain Cognitive Science Center and Research Lab, the largest of its type in the world. The facility is an exercise in building and urban design as it ties together three major research institutes; the Picower Center for Learning and Memory, the McGovern Institute of Brain Research and MIT’s Department of Brain and Cognitive Sciences.

The program required that each institute have its own street level identity but once inside the three institutions become and work as one center. Thus, facilitating interaction and collegiality between scientists a hallmark of MIT culture. Produced in partnership with Charles Correa Architects, India.
